The standalone Secure Access Roaming module is approaching end of support and is directly replaced by the Secure Access module in Cisco Secure Client.

The Secure Access Roaming module in Cisco Secure Client provides a more robust handling of DNS and web traffic using the Cisco Secure Client's underlying driver technologies. Cisco Secure Client provides a greater level of compatibility and reliability than the legacy Roaming Client.

To upgrade an existing Roaming Client computer to the Secure Access Roaming module in Cisco Secure Client, install Cisco Secure Client using any of the previous guides of Roaming Security DNS Requirements.

  • The existing Umbrella profile information (OrgInfo.json) from Roaming Client will be retained.

  • The standalone Secure Access Roaming Client will be automatically removed during installation.

  • Under no circumstances should both the Secure Access Roaming Client and Umbrella module be running. Ensure you have disabled any deployment tasks for the Secure Access Roaming Client to prevent re-installation.
