Integrate Microsoft Intune with Secure Access to enhance device security enforcement, improve compliance, and centralize device management.

Cisco Secure Access integrates with Microsoft Intune to streamline device management and strengthen security compliance across your organization’s devices.

What is Microsoft Intune?

Microsoft Intune is a cloud-based endpoint management solution that allows organizations to manage user access to corporate resources. It simplifies application and device management for a wide range of endpoints, including mobile devices, desktops, and virtual machines.

By integrating Microsoft Intune with Cisco Secure Access, you can:

  • Enhance Security Enforcement: Cisco Secure Access uses device data from Intune to assess endpoint posture and enforce security policies.

  • Improve Compliance: Ensure devices comply with organizational security standards before granting access to sensitive resources.

  • Centralize Device Management: Manage and monitor device health and compliance from a single, unified platform.

When Microsoft Intune integration is configured, Cisco Secure Access receives device posture information from Intune. This data enables Cisco Secure Access to:

  • Evaluate device compliance status.

  • Apply appropriate security policies based on real-time device data.

  • Restrict or allow access to organizational resources according to policy requirements.

The Microsoft Intune integration with Secure Access is in limited availability and will not be available to every customer until it is released in general availability.

Before you begin

Procedure

  1. Navigate to Admin > Third-party Integrations > Microsoft Intune and click Integrate.

  2. Enter integration details.

    1. Integration name: Enter a descriptive name that will help you identify the purpose of the integration in Secure Access.
    2. Application (Client) ID: The unique identifier of your application used by Microsoft Entra (formerly known as Microsoft Azure) to validate security tokens received from the Microsoft identity platform. Find the Application (Client) ID in the Overview page of your registered app in the Microsoft Entra admin center. For more information, see Register an application in Microsoft Entra ID.
    3. Client Secret: The application password used by the registered app to identify itself. For more information, see Add and manage application credentials in Microsoft Entra ID.
    4. Token Endpoint URL
  3. Click Save.

  4. Click the ellipse menu to view or modify integration details.

After creating an MDM integration, it can take up to 24 hours before the integration will take effect in a posture profile used in an access rule. During that time, devices will not be granted access to private or internet resources that are protected by the access rule.
