In Cisco Secure Access, you can configure Schedule resources to manage the enablement of internet or private access rules in the Access policy. A Schedule resource includes a time zone, start and end dates, and time periods in specific days of the week. Secure Access supports an unlimited number of Schedule resources in an organization.

After you add a Schedule resource in Secure Access, enable the Schedule Enablement Time and Date setting on an access rule and include the Schedule resource on the rule. For information about enabling Schedules on access rules, see Add an Internet Access Rule and Add a Private Access Rule.

About Configuring Schedule Resources

A Schedule resource requires multiple time-based configuration settings to manage the enablement of an access rule. Secure Access combines these settings together in the Schedule resource:

  • The time zone for the selected dates and times.
  • The start and end dates selected on a days of the month calendar.
    • Choose the start date when Secure Access enables the access rule.
    • Choose the end date when Secure Access disables the access rule.
  • The start and end times during the 24-hour time period when Secure Access enables the access rule on the selected days of the week.
    • Choose the days of the week when Secure Access enables the access rule.
    • Choose the AM or PM hour in the 24-hour time period for the selected days of the week.

Guidelines for Creating Schedules

  • You can include a Schedule on an internet or private access rule.
  • You do not have to enable an access rule to add the Schedule Enablement Time and Date setting and select the Schedule on the access rule.
  • If Secure Access enables an access rule with a Schedule and the Schedule expires, Secure Access disables the Schedule and the access rule in the Access policy.
  • After you include a Schedule on an access rule, Secure Access manages the enablement of the access rule according to the dates and times configured in the Schedule.

  2. Enable the Schedule Enablement Time and Date setting and select a Schedule on an access rule. For more information, see Schedule Enablement Time and Date.
