FIPS certification

FIPS certification is a compliance mode that ensures SSH and GUI functionalities comply with FIPS140-3 security standards from NIST. When enabled, it also ensures that the AP configuration meets FIPS requirements.


Note


FIPS certification does not support SNMP.


Enable or disable FIPS mode

This task configures FIPS mode on an access point.

Procedure


Use the configure fips { enable | disable } command to enable or disable FIPS mode on AP.

Example:

Device# configure fips enable

Verify FIPS mode using CLI

Procedure


Use the show fips command to verify FIPS mode on the AP.

Example:


Device# show fips
FIPS: enabled
