A time range object defines a specific time that consists of a start time, an end time, and optional recurring entries. You use time range objects in network policies to provide time-based access to features or assets. Creating a time range object does not restrict access to the device. The configured times are local to the device.

You can add absolute or recurring time ranges to a time range object. Recurring ranges are periodic time ranges.

Note

If a time range has both absolute and periodic values, Security Cloud Control evaluates the periodic values only after the absolute start time is reached and stops evaluating them after the absolute end time is reached.

Create an ASA time range object

Use the following procedure to create a time range object for an ASA device:

Procedure

	1.	From the Security Cloud Control Home page, click Firewall.
	2.	In the left pane, click Objects.
	3.	Click > ASA > Time Range.
	4.	Enter an object name.
	5.	Define a time range. Absolute Time Range: Enter a start time and an end time. A time range object can have only one absolute time range. Recurring Time Ranges: Click the icon to add a periodic time range that repeats during the week. Select the frequency, days of the week, start time, and end time. A time range object can have multiple periodic ranges. Note Start and end times are optional. If no start time is configured, the time range starts immediately. If no end time is configured, the time range lasts indefinitely.
	6.	Click Add to create the object.

Edit an ASA time range object

Use the following procedure to edit a time range object for an ASA device:

Procedure

	1.	From the Security Cloud Control Home page, click Firewall.
	2.	In the left pane, click Objects.
	3.	Filter the objects to find the object you want to edit and then select the object in the object table.
	4.	In the details pane, click edit .
	5.	Edit the values as needed and click Save.
	6.	If the object is currently used by any policies, Security Cloud Control displays the policies that will be affected by the change. Click Confirm to finalize the change to the object and any policy affected by it.
	7.	If the object is used in a policy on a device, review and deploy now the changes you made, or wait and deploy multiple changes at once.
