Lists the available options for transferring bulk statistics files to network management stations and managing local statistics files.
Bulk statistics file transfer involves the creation and transfer of a virtual file (VFile) containing all collected data to network management stations using FTP or TFTP. The following options are available for configuring bulk statistics file transfer:
The value of the transfer interval is also the collection period (collection interval) for the local bulk statistics file. After the collection period ends, the bulk statistics file is frozen, and a new local bulk statistics file is created for storing data. The frozen bulk statistics file is then transferred to the specified destination.
By default, the local bulk statistics file is deleted after successful transfer to an network management station.
-
Transfer interval:
-
Specify how often the bulk statistics file is transferred.
-
Default: Once every 30 minutes.
-
The transfer interval is also used as the data collection interval for the local bulk statistics file.
-
-
Primary and secondary destinations:
-
Configure a primary network management station to receive the statistics file.
-
Optionally configure a secondary destination, which is used if the file cannot be sent to the primary station.
-
-
File handling after transfer:
-
After each collection period, the bulk statistics file is frozen and a new file is created to continue collecting data.
-
The frozen file is then transferred to the specified destination(s).
-
By default, the local bulk statistics file is deleted after a successful transfer to the management station.
-
These options allow you to manage how and where bulk statistics data is collected, stored, and transferred within your network management strategy.
