Explains how bulk statistics object lists are used to group MIB objects for polling based on a shared index.
A bulk statistics object list is a user-defined grouping mechanism that
-
contains MIB objects that share the same MIB index,
-
allows configuration to be reused across different bulk statistics schemas, and
-
enables flexible grouping regardless of MIB or MIB table membership.
Object lists are identified by a name of your choosing. All objects within a bulk statistics object list must share the same MIB index, although the objects do not need to reside in the same MIB or belong to the same MIB table. This facilitates easier configuration reuse in multiple bulk statistics schemas. For example, it’s possible to group ifInOctets and a CISCO-IF-EXTENSION-MIB object in the same schema, as both are indexed by the ifIndex.
