As mentioned in Module 5: Software
Support, in addition to having support for the Cisco
IOS Software running on your customer’s devices or network,
it is also important to ensure your customers have support
for their networks application software as well.
Network applications can include software such as:
CiscoWorks and Cisco Information Center
network management software |
Cisco Secure security software |
CallManager, Contact Center, and Unified
Messaging voice software |
IPTV and IPNC Video software |
Wireless software - GGSN |
Optical software - Cisco Transport Manager
(CTM) |
These applications are not supported under SMARTnet, SMARTnet
Onsite, or other Cisco service programs. Instead, these applications
are supported under individual service contracts within the
Software Application Support (SAS) or Software Application
Support Plus Upgrades (SASU) service programs. Both of these
programs are very similar. The primary difference is specific
to the types of software updates that customers receive under
each program.
