Adding consumption optimization capabilities to Cisco CloudCenter.
SAN JOSE, Calif. – On December 21, 2017, Cisco has completed its acquisition of Cmpute.io, also known as 47Line Technologies, a privately held company operating in Bangalore India, and incorporated in Delaware. Cmpute.io’s software solution analyzes cloud-deployed workloads and consumption patterns and identifies cost-optimization strategies, such as right-sizing AWS instances, and recommending spot vs. on-demand pricing vs. reserved instances. As part of Cisco CloudCenter, the solution will enhance existing CloudCenter features and accelerate release of planned features on product roadmap.
Cmpute.io’s core technology can help CloudCenter customer reduce their cloud bill. The acquisition accelerates delivery of key price/performance optimization features that will have immediate value when put in use by our customers. It will deliver immediate value in ways that drive hard costs savings.
With today’s announcement, the Cmpute.io team will continue to be located in Bangalore and report into Gaurav Manglik, sr. director, Cloud Orchestration and Management. This team will be part of the Cloud Platform Solutions Group led by Kip Compton, vice president.

A: Cisco will not continue to sell the existing Cmpute.io product. Cisco will support existing Cmpute.io customers, and when features are available in a CloudCenter release, will replace Cmpute.io with CloudCenter, and end of life the existing Cmpute.io product.
