SAN JOSE, Calif. – On December 21, 2017, Cisco has completed its acquisition of, also known as 47Line Technologies, a privately held company operating in Bangalore India, and incorporated in Delaware.’s software solution analyzes cloud-deployed workloads and consumption patterns and identifies cost-optimization strategies, such as right-sizing AWS instances, and recommending spot vs. on-demand pricing vs. reserved instances. As part of Cisco CloudCenter, the solution will enhance existing CloudCenter features and accelerate release of planned features on product roadmap.’s core technology can help CloudCenter customer reduce their cloud bill. The acquisition accelerates delivery of key price/performance optimization features that will have immediate value when put in use by our customers. It will deliver immediate value in ways that drive hard costs savings.

With today’s announcement, the team will continue to be located in Bangalore and report into Gaurav Manglik, sr. director, Cloud Orchestration and Management.  This team will be part of the Cloud Platform Solutions Group led by Kip Compton, vice president.

Q: Why did Cisco choose to acquire

A: The acquisition of is a more effective way to add new capabilities and features to CloudCenter, than developing them using existing the CloudCenter development team.

Q: Why is now the right time to acquire

A: As use of Cloud Infrastructure as a Services (IaaS) continues to grow, an increasing number of existing Cisco customers are focusing efforts on reducing cloud bill, and optimizing pay-per-use resource consumption.

Q: Will Cisco continue to offer products after the acquisition closes?

A: Cisco will not continue to sell the existing product. Cisco will support existing customers, and when features are available in a CloudCenter release, will replace with CloudCenter, and end of life the existing product. Customers and Partners:
