If you delete the device, all of the device's interfaces are also deleted. Recommended Action Click Yes to delete the device and all of its interfaces from the database and from any groups to which they are attached. Otherwise, click No to keep the device and its interfaces. Error Message Explanation The DNS resolution processing is complete. Recommended Action None. Error Message Explanation The DNS host resolution processing is complete, but there are errors. Recommended Action The DNS log indicates whether there was an error for a name. Check all the names for spelling errors. If names are correct and the errors continue, contact your system administrator. Error Message Explanation You stopped the resolution process before it was finished. Recommended Action None. Error Message Explanation You are trying to remove an interface from a group that contains policies. When removing an interface from a group, the group policies are not automatically retained on the removed interface. Recommended Action Click Yes to keep the policies. Otherwise, click No to cancel the policies. Error Message Explanation You are trying to exit Policy Manager without saving your database changes. If you exit without saving the database, the changes are lost. Recommended Action Select Yes to save changes made to the database. Otherwise, select No to void all changes made since the last save. Error Message Explanation You are trying to add a device to the database, but the database already contains an entry for the device. The existing entry might be a device name or an interface with the IP address you are trying to add. Recommended Action Ensure you are entering the correct device name. Error Message Explanation All policies must have a name. Recommended Action Enter a policy name. Error Message Explanation This field requires an entry. Recommended Action Enter a value in the field. Error Message Explanation This field requires an entry. Recommended Action Enter a value in the field. Error Message Explanation The entry in the field is not between the minimum and maximum value limits. Recommended Action Enter a value between the minimum and maximum limits. Error Message Explanation The value in this field is less than the minimum value allowed. Recommended Action Enter a value greater than the minimum limit. Error Message Explanation The value in this field is greater than the maximum value allowed. Recommended Action Enter a value that is less than the maximum value. Error Message Explanation The file requested cannot be found. Recommended Action Check that the name is correct. Error Message Explanation You are adding an interface to a group that defines the QoS property for group members. Interfaces take on the QoS Property characteristics when added to a group. Recommended Action Select Yes to add the interface. Otherwise, select No. Error Message Explanation Group policies override member interface policies when there are differences between the group policies and the member interface policies. This message is confirming your action. Recommended Action None Error Message Explanation A host group name was not entered for this host group. Recommended Action Enter a host group name and continue. Error Message Explanation The requested file is not a QoS database file. Recommended Action Verify that the file you are trying to access is a QoS database. Check the file name. Error Message Explanation The IP address is not recognized. Recommended Action Correct the IP address and continue. Error Message Explanation The address you are trying to assign is not a valid IP address. Recommended Action Enter a valid IP address and continue. Error Message Explanation You entered an invalid mask. Recommended Action Correct the mask or leave the field empty. Error Message Explanation Member interfaces will retain the indicated group QoS Property even if they are no longer members of the group. Recommended Action If the interface is no longer a member of the group, you may set other properties for the interface. Error Message Explanation A hostname or IP address was not entered. Recommended Action Enter a hostname or IP address. Error Message Explanation QPM could not open the file. The operating system returns the read error. Recommended Action If the problem persists, try recovering the database from a backup copy, and check your drive for integrity problems. Error Message Explanation An integer is the only acceptable entry for this field. Recommended Action Enter a valid integer. Error Message Explanation You are trying to change whether FRTS is enabled on an interface that has subinterfaces, when the subinterfaces belong to device groups. The device groups have QoS policies or other settings that will not work if you make the change you are attempting. Recommended Action If you need to change the FRTS setting of the interface, you must first change the policies on the device group, or remove the subinterfaces from the device group. Error Message Explanation You are adding an interface to a device group, and the device group has a QoS property defined for it. This property will override any QoS property defined on the interface. Recommended Action Click Yes to add the interface to the group and change its QoS property to the one defined on the group. Click No to not add the interface to the group. Error Message Explanation You are trying to delete an interface from the database, but the interface belongs to a device group. If you delete the interface, it is also removed from the group. Recommended Action Select Yes to remove the interface. Otherwise, select No to keep the interface in the group and in the database. Error Message Explanation The data entered into the IP address field is not a valid IP address. Recommended Action Enter a valid IP address. Error Message Explanation You are trying to add a device using an IP address that is already assigned to an interface on another device that is defined in the database. Recommended Action Verify that this is the correct address. If it is the correct address, determine if the device currently using the interface address is the same device as the one you are trying to add. You can rename the device or continuing using the existing entry. If the device entry is using the wrong IP address, correct the entry before adding the device using this IP address. Error Message Explanation You are trying to assign an IP address to an interface, but the IP address is already used as a device name for another device in the database. A device's interface cannot have the same IP address as another device's interface on the network. Recommended Action Verify that this is the correct IP address. If it is correct, you must first correct the device entry for the device that is currently defined with this IP address. Error Message Explanation This action is not supported by this version of IOS software on this device. Recommended Action Update the software for the device or delete and change the policy. Error Message Explanation The IOS software version running on the designated interface does not support the designated QoS Property. Recommended Action Update the software for the interface or delete and change the QoS Property. Error Message Explanation You are trying to remove an interface from a group that defines the QoS property. QPM is asking whether you want to keep the QoS property on the interface. Recommended Action Click Yes to remove the interface from the group. Otherwise, click No to keep the interface in the group. Error Message Explanation You are trying to remove an interface from a group that defines the QoS property and which also contains policies. QPM is asking whether you also want to keep the policies defined on the group on the interface as well as the QoS property. Recommended Action Select Yes to keep all policies. Otherwise, select No to cancel the policies. Error Message Explanation The system cannot find the designated string. Recommended Action Check the spelling of the string. Error Message Explanation You used host names instead of IP addresses for some devices, and they must be resolved to IP addresses in order to configure the policies on the devices. Recommended Action Select Yes to resolve the host IP address and save the database. Otherwise, select No to save the database without host IP address resolution. You must resolve the host names before the policies that use the names can be configured. Error Message Explanation All host IP addresses have been resolved in the database. Recommended Action Click OK. Error Message Explanation You are trying to change the QoS property for the group. The property you selected conflicts with policies already defined on the group. Recommended Action Select OK to remove the policies and change the QoS property for the device group. Error Message Explanation You are trying to change the QoS property for the interface. The property you selected conflicts with policies already defined on the interface. Recommended Action Click Yes to change the QoS property and to remove the conflicting policies. Click No to keep the old QoS property with its associated policies. Error Message Explanation You are trying to enable FRTS on an interface, but there are GTS shaping policies defined on some of the interface's subinterfaces. GTS policies cannot exist on an interface or its subinterfaces when FRTS is enabled on the interface. Recommended Action Click OK to have QPM remove the GTS shaping policies from the subinterface and enable FRTS on the interface. Error Message Explanation The database contains a group with the name you have just chosen. Recommended Action Give the group you are creating a different name. Error Message Explanation The database contains an application service with the name you have chosen. Recommended Action Give the application service you are creating a different name. Error Message Explanation The name you are trying to assign already exists on this device. You cannot have two interfaces with the same name on a device. Recommended Action Check the interface name and try again. Error Message Explanation You can create a policy only at an interface level, a device group level, or for those devices which support the attachment of policies. Recommended Action Select the correct item on which you need to create the policy. If you are trying to create policies for use on all interfaces on a device, you must first create a device group that contains the device's interfaces. Then, create the policies on the device group. Error Message Explanation You are trying to create a policy on a device group that does not support policies. Either the group's QoS property does not allow policies, or the interface type and software version do not support policies. Recommended Action Ensure that the device group is defined correctly for your requirements. If you must define policies on the group to meet your needs, determine which group characteristic is preventing the policy definition and change it. You might need to create one or more new device groups and move interfaces to the new groups. You might also need to upgrade the software version running on the interfaces. Error Message Explanation You are trying to create a policy on an interface that does not support policies. Either the interface's QoS property does not allow policies, or the interface type and software version do not support policies. Recommended Action Ensure that the interface is defined correctly for your requirements. If you must define policies on the interface to meet your needs, determine which interface characteristic is preventing the policy definition and change it. You might need to upgrade the software version running on the interface or change its QoS property. Error Message Explanation The folder is a required folder and cannot be deleted. Recommended Action None. Error Message Explanation There are statements that use this group in the indicated policy name and folder. Recommended Action Remove all references or keep the host groups. QPM mentions only the first occurrence it finds of the host group, so you might get this message repeatedly until you remove all uses of the host group. Consider creating an All Policies report and scanning for the host group name to help you identify policies that use the name. Error Message Explanation You are trying to paste a policy in a folder, but the folder does not support the policy's action. The folder is either one that cannot hold policies, or it can hold policies, but the device or interface type, software version, or QoS property does not support the policy's action. Recommended Action Ensure that you have selected the correct target folder. If you have selected the correct folder, the policy cannot be implemented on the interface, device group, or device unless you change its characteristics. Error Message Explanation The data is not a valid port entry. Recommended Action Select a port or enter a number between 0 and 65535. Distribution Manager Error MessagesDistribution Manager log messages are described in the "Reading the Distribution Manager Logs" section. Error Message Explanation Distribution Manager is connecting to the QoS Manager service on the indicated host. Recommended Action None. Error Message Explanation The queue byte count exceeds the calculated limit of 0xFFFFFF Recommended Action Reduce the interface packet size or decrease the custom queue ratio. Error Message Explanation The Distribution Manager application is closing. Recommended Action None. Error Message Explanation Distribution Manager is reading the configuration commands from the device. Recommended Action None. Error Message Explanation There was no match. The search string was not found. Recommended Action Check the search string for accuracy. Error Message Explanation Distribution Manager could not connect to the QoS Manager service on the indicated machine. You cannot use Distribution Manager until QoS Manager is available. Recommended Action Verify that the host is available on the network and that the QoS Manager service is running on the host.
