Fiber-Optic Power Levels
Table A-4 lists fiber-optic power levels for port adapters and interface modules. To attach long reach port adapters or interface modules using single-mode fiber, measure the power level of the transmitter and adjust it by using optical attenuators.

Caution Add a 10 dB attenuator at the interface to adjust the power level, or the transmitter overdrives the receiver and introduces data errors. |
