This topic describes how to configure Alarm Indication Signal (AIS) transmission for a Connectivity Fault Management (CFM) domain service, and configure AIS logging for the CFM domain service to indicate when AIS or LCK packets are received.

Use the following procedure to configure Alarm Indication Signal (AIS) transmission for a CFM domain service and configure AIS logging.

Procedure

1.

Enter global configuration mode.

Example:

Router# configure
2.

Enter Ethernet CFM global configuration mode.

Example:

Router(config)# ethernet cfm
3.

Specifiy the domain and domain level.

Example:

router(config-cfm)# domain D1 level 1
4.

Use the service name xconnect group xconnect-group-name p2p xconnect-name command to specify the service and cross-connect group and name.

Example:

Router(config-cfm-dmn)# service S1 xconnect group XG1 p2p X2
5.

Use the ais transmission [interval {1s|1m}][cos cos] command to configure Alarm Indication Signal (AIS) transmission for a Connectivity Fault Management (CFM) domain service.

Example:

Router(config-cfm-dmn-svc)# ais transmission interval 1m cos 7
6.

Configure AIS logging for a Connectivity Fault Management (CFM) domain service to indicate when AIS or LCK packets are received.

Example:

Router(config-cfm-dmn-svc)# log ais
7.

Save the configuration changes to the running configuration file and remain within the configuration session.

Example:

Router(config-sla-prof-stat-cfg)# commit
8.

End the configuration session and exit to the EXEC mode.

Example:

Router(config-sla-prof-stat-cfg)# end
