Module 10: Cisco SMB Support Assistant
Overview
What do we mean when we say “small and medium-sized businesses?”
The Cisco SMB Support Assistant is targeted to small and medium-sized businesses with 250 or less employees. You can use this as a general rule. Remember, some small organizations may have very complex networks while some larger organizations may have simple networks. It’s the complexity of the network that will drive your decision as a partner to position SMB Support Assistant or SMARTnet as the solution that’s right for them.

How are small and medium-sized businesses unique?
There is a specific set of Cisco products that are targeted towards this market. We’ll discuss which products these are in just a moment.
SMB customers may not have a team of dedicated, certified technicians to maintain their network. Often, there may be a few people that know some things about how a network functions, but they’re not experts. These IT professionals may be managing several things at once. Perhaps they’re installing software on a computer, researching a requested purchase, and managing the network all at the same time. When issues arise, they turn to you for support. Offering a networking solution that is easy to set up and easy to maintain improves your customer’s satisfaction and decreases the investment in time and materials for you.
It’s for these reasons that the Cisco SMB Support Assistant program was created.
The Cisco SMB Support Assistant provides tools and support options that meet the needs of an SMB’s IT team by providing the easy-to-use tools and support that these IT teams are looking for.
You will read more about these tools in the rest of this module.
