Value of Software Support

By not refreshing their networks with the latest software enhancements, many customers do not realize they can become vulnerable to competitors.

It is important to point out to customers that many competitors will keep both their Cisco IOS Software and other software on the network current with the latest releases, updates, and fixes. As an example, you can use tangible data about Cisco IOS Software to make your customers more aware of this.

Over 900 features have been incorporated into the most current version of Cisco IOS Software since its original version (version 9.0). These features have significantly enhances Cisco IOS Software and have improved the capabilities and technologies it can support. Combine this with the fact that 75 percent of all Cisco customers update their Cisco IOS Software at least once a year.

Your customers will begin to more clearly see the risks associated with not keeping their software up-to-date.
