This product bulletin serves as the updated notification of Cisco IOS Software Release 12.0SL reaching end of engineering milestones.
Cisco IOS software Release12.0SL is an early deployment (ED) release for the Cisco 10000 Series Internet Routers for Service Providers (SPs). Cisco IOS Release12.0SL is based on 12.0ST, a widely deployed Service Provider release. Cisco IOS Release12.0SL has been developed and maintained for over a year and has been in use in a number of customer networks.
IOS software release train 12.0SL for the Cisco 10000 Series Internet Router will reach End of Engineering with Cisco IOS maintenance software release 12.0(19)SL. End of Engineering means there will be no further scheduled maintenance releases for 12.0SL. The End of Engineering release continues to be available through CCO and FSO Web sites until End of Life. Software defects found in this release train may be addressed in the 12.0ST train.
Customers currently on Cisco IOS Software Release 12.0SL are recommended to upgrade to the latest version of Cisco IOS Release 12.0ST. Release 12.0(20)ST provides the same levels of software functionality as release 12.0(19)SL, but offers support for the latest range of interface modules including the 6-port OC-3c/STM-1c POS/SDH, 4-port OC-3c/STM-1c ATM and 8-port E3/T3.
The migration path for customers requiring bug fixes to 12.0SL releases is through the12.0ST release train.
Cisco IOS Software Release 12.0(17)SL is the last 12.0SL release that is orderable through Cisco Market Place. Cisco IOS Software Release12.0(19)SL is the last 12.0SL release that is available on CCO and FSO.
