OC-48c/STM-16c DPT Cards
Rev-B Availability and
Rev-A EOL Announcement
Cisco Systems is pleased to announce that the Cisco 12000 OC-48c/STM-16c Rev-B Dynamic Packet Transport (DPT) line cards will be orderable starting on February 1, 2001.
The Rev-B cards allow rings of up to 128 nodes whereas the Rev-A cards have a 62 node limit. The Rev-B cards also incorporate a Stratum-3 oscillator for increased transmit frequency accuracy.
The Rev-B cards are backward compatible and can interwork with Rev-A cards. They require an IOS software release level of 12.0(15)S or greater.
The Rev-B cards carry the same price as the Rev-A cards. The part numbers are as follows:

OC-48c/STM-16c Rev-A DPT Cards End-of-Life Announcement
On June 1, 2001, the OC-48c/STM-16c Rev-A DPT line cards having the part numbers OC48/SRP-SR-SC(=), OC48/SRP-LR-SC(=), OC48/SRP-SR-PAIR(=), and OC48/SRP-LR-PAIR(=) will no longer be offered. They will be superceded by the Rev-B line cards having the part numbers OC48/SRP-SR-SC-B(=),
OC48/SRP-LR-SC-B(=), OC48/SRP-SR-B-PR(=), and OC48/SRP-LR-B-PR(=) part numbers, respectively. All last-time-buy orders by customers must be received on or before June 1, 2001. Service contracts on these products will not be renewed after February 1, 2005, and these products will no longer be supported by Cisco after February 1, 2006.
