Create certificate template using Microsoft CA
Here's the instructions to create a certificate template:
Before you begin
Create certificate templates using the Microsoft Certificate Authority (CA) to generate certificates for Cisco IoT FND and TPS proxy. For more information about certificate templates see, certificate templates .
Procedure
| 1. | Open Microsoft CA application. Ensure that you are on a system operating with the enterprise edition of Microsoft CA. |

| 2. | Follow the instructions provided in the Create a Certificate Template: Enterprise CAs to create a certificate template. |
Enable a certificate template
Before you begin
You must create and configure a certificate template.
Procedure
| 1. | Open the CA application using the Windows server. |

| 2. | Follow the instructions provided in Configure the Certificate Template to enable a certificate template. |
Generate a certificate for TPS Proxy
Before you begin
You must create and enable a certificate template using Microsoft CA.
Procedure
| 1. | Log in to the target machine with administrator rights. |

| 2. | Follow the instruction provided in the Request a Certificate Using a Request File to generate a certificate. |
Export the certificates
Follow these instructions to export certificates from Microsoft CA or subordinate CA to Cisco IoT FND.

| 1. | Open the certificate management console for the local computer by running the following command. Some methods of running this command are from the Start menu , the Windows Run prompt, PowerShell prompt, or command prompt. |
