This section explains the transmit shutdown feature on trunk optics controllers on the NCS 1004.


A transmit shutdown is a feature of trunk optics controllers that

  • reduces the CFP2 transmit power,

  • enables administrators to disable the laser transmitter for safety and maintenance, and

  • From Release 7.3.2 , you can configure transmit shutdown on the optics controller in the 4x100GE-MXP-DD muxponder mode.

You can configure transmit shutdown on the optics controller to disable the laser transmitter.


Configure transmit shutdown on trunk optics controller

Disable the CFP2 laser transmitter by configuring transmit shutdown on the trunk optics controller.
Follow these steps to configure and verify transmit shutdown on the trunk optics controller:

Procedure

1.

Run the transmit-shutdown command to perform transmit shutdown.
