Use this procedure to configure Telnet access for remote management on Cisco NCS 1001 and set the maximum number of allowed Telnet sessions.

Enable Telnet server access for remote system management and specify the session limit to control concurrent access.

With a terminal emulation program, establish a telnet session to the management interface port using its IP address.

Follow these steps to configure Telnet server access and session limits:

Procedure

1.

Enter the configuration mode.

Example:

RP/0/RP0/CPU0:ios# configure
2.

Use the telnet {ipv4 | ipv6} server max-servers limit command to specify the number of allowed Telnet server sessions.

Up to 100 Telnet servers are allowed. By default, no Telnet servers are allowed. You must configure this command to enable the use of Telnet servers.

Example:

RP/0/RP0/CPU0:ios(config)# telnet ipv4 server max-servers 10
3.

Use the commit or end command.

  • Commit — saves the configuration changes and remains within the configuration session.

  • End — prompts you to save (Yes), discard (No), or stay in the session (Cancel).

Telnet server access is enabled according to the session limit you set.
