This section explains how the Cisco NCS 1001 starts after hardware installation and identifies the follow-on setup tasks needed to reach a manageable system state.
A Cisco NCS 1001 bring-up process is a system initialization procedure that
-
starts the device through the XR console port after hardware installation,
-
uses the preinstalled operating system image when one is available, and
-
supports recovery boot methods, such as iPXE, USB boot, and Golden ISO, when no valid local image is available.
After the boot process, create the root username and password and use those credentials to log in to the XR console. From the XR console, access the System Admin console to configure system administration settings.
The output in command examples might not be from the latest software release. Output can change when a release-specific value changes.
