Cisco has recently identified a defect (CSCvo45816) in the Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI). EX switches might crash with the following reason:
Reset Requested due to Fatal Module Error
System version: 12.3(1f)
Service: Service on linecard had a hap-reset
A core file is raised against sdk_hal. This issue occurs if the switch has been up for a long period of time, such as 500 or more days.
Turn off the heartbeat check for the Hal process by using the following command:
vsh_lc -c 'debug platform internal hal infra thread heartbeat disable'
Hal process tracking should still work even if you use the listed command, and so there should not be an impact to your fabric.
