When upgrading Cisco Optical Site Manager from Release 24.3.1, 25.1.1, or 25.2.1 to Release 25.3.1 or later, ensure that the Golden ISO (GISO) includes the required bridge SMU package.
This requirement is specific to Cisco Optical Site Manager deployments on Cisco NCS 1010 and Cisco NCS 1014 host platforms.
The bridge SMU package upgrades the Cisco IOS XR operating system before the release upgrade continues.
If the GISO does not include the required bridge SMU package, the Cisco IOS XR compatibility check fails during activation.

In this failure scenario, Cisco Optical Site Manager might continue to display the activation status as Activating.
To recover from this state, restart Cisco Optical Site Manager.
Add the required bridge SMU package to the GISO, and then run the upgrade again.
