Describes initial gateway setup using local KVM access, Cisco IMC configuration, and console port connection for first-time access or troubleshooting.
You can perform the initial gateway setup using either of the following methods:
-
Using KVM, see Connect to the gateway for setup, or
-
Using CIMC GUI, see Configure the Cisco Integrated Management Controller
Connect to the gateway for setup
Configures the gateway for initial setup by connecting a keyboard and monitor directly to the system. Verifies power status and accesses the Cisco IMC Configuration interface.
Configure the Cisco Integrated Management Controller
Configure the Cisco Integrated Management Controller (IMC) to enable device management and network connectivity. Configure static IP settings and access the IMC interface to complete initial setup.
Connect to the gateway console port
Configure a direct connection to the gateway console port using a DB-9 to RJ-45 serial cable and a terminal emulator. This enables local CLI access for initial configuration or troubleshooting.
