Configure SD-WAN Analytics to automatically trigger NWPI traces for network-wide path insight and troubleshooting.

  • Enable cloud-based trace collection and storage for easier analysis.

Use this task when you want SD-WAN Analytics to automatically initiate NWPI traces based on network events or analytics triggers.

NWPI traces are typically named in a [trigger reason] Auto Triage - [timestamp] format, helping identify the reason and time of trace creation.

  • Traces can be stored locally, in the cloud, or both, depending on configuration.

Before you begin

Before configuring SD-WAN Analytics triggered NWPI traces, ensure you have access to Cisco SD-WAN Manager and the necessary permissions to modify settings.

  • Cloud Services must be enabled in Cisco SD-WAN Manager.

  • Analytics must be allowed to create traces and tasks via API.

Follow these steps to configure SD-WAN Analytics triggered NWPI trace:

Procedure

  1. In Cisco SD-WAN Manager, go to Settings > Data Collection & Statistics and enable Cloud Services.

  2. In Cisco SD-WAN Manager, go to Monitor > Network-Wide Path Insight > Administration Settings and click Allow Analytics to create traces and tasks via API.

  3. Enable Upload Traces and Tasks to the Cloud to upload the NWPI trace to the SD-WAN Analytics cloud.

You can see the trace's storage location in the trace table. The location can be local stored, cloud stored, or both local and cloud stored.

After completing these steps, SD-WAN Analytics will automatically trigger NWPI traces. Traces will be named according to the trigger reason and timestamp, and can be stored locally, in the cloud, or both.

What to do next

Review the trace table to verify the storage location and ensure traces are uploaded as expected.

Confirm that traces are accessible for analysis in SD-WAN Analytics cloud or local storage.
