Overview

Configure an optical network by adding NCS 1000 transponders to an NCS 1001, NCS 1010, or NCS 1014 system.

Use this procedure to add NCS 1000 transponders to an NCS 1001, NCS 1010, or NCS 1014 optical network.

Note

NCS 1000 transponders with colored add/drop funtionality do not support all trunk and baud rate combination.

Before you begin

Log in to the Cisco ONP web interface as a user with the admin role.

Procedure

1.

Create a network design. See Manually design a network using Cisco ONP.

2.

Set the TXP Chassis and Card type for the transponders.

  1. In the Entity Editor window, click the Service tab.

  2. At the service level, set the Client Type.

  3. Select the Band Type.

  4. At the circuit or media channel level, set Traffic Type as Transponder Card.

    At the trail level, Card Type and TXP Chassis properties appear.
  5. Click the trail under the sections, and then set the TXP Chassis and Card Type properties.

  6. Click the service and set the TXP Chassis and Card Type properties.

    Refer to this table for the required chassis and card type.

  7. Set the relevant properties. See Supported transponders and their trunk modes.

  8. Click Update.

Under the C-Band properties, select the required multiplexer and demultiplexer.

Click Update.

5.

Analyze the network by choosing Network > Analyze.
