In response to environmental and economic pressures, organizations have begun to deploy technology to monitor and control energy within their organization.
Innovative Cisco EnergyWise technology provides the ability to measure, monitor and manage energy across the IT infrastructure. EnergyWise uses the network itself to open energy management to all device types, including integration with building management systems (BMS). It delivers flexible and unified management for all vendor types.
The Cisco EnergyWise validated design guide provides a functional review and analysis of the three tiers within the system architecture:
- Management applications
- Domain members
- Endpoints
This initial design guide focuses on EnergyWise technology running on Cisco Catalyst Switch and ISR G2 Router infrastructure. Management application guidance centers on Cisco Prime LAN Management Solution, and the system endpoints are Cisco IP phones and EnergyWise enabled endpoints.
