Borderless Networks: Medium Enterprise Design Profile
July 8, 2010
This design guide describes how the Medium Enterprise Design Profile can be used to integrate Cisco products, technologies, and applications into a borderless network architecture.
The Medium Enterprise Design Profile was developed to represent a broad cross-section of mid-sized businesses and organizations having several regional offices or locations, each with autonomous services and supporting a larger number of employees or network users.
The Medium Enterprise Design Profile is comprised of four distinct components: Network Foundation, Cisco SAFE Security Architecture, Mobility, and Collaboration Services.
Launch the Design Guide
Design Considerations & Network Foundation
Build a highly resilient, manageable, and cost-effective network that provides a solid foundation for the integration and operation of applications and network services.
Cisco SAFE Security Architecture
Security components interoperating with the Network Foundation provide for stronger security, better network availability, and support for important applications and information privacy.
Mobility
The Cisco Unified Wireless Network (CUWN) combines the best elements of wireless and wired networking to deliver highly secure, scalable wireless networks with a low total cost of ownership integrated with the Network Foundation guidance.
