Introduces label distribution protocol IGP auto-configuration, outlining how to automate LDP enablement across multiple IGP interfaces, support IPv4 in default VRF, and selectively control auto-configuration for IS-IS environments.
Label distribution protocol IGP auto-configuration is a network automation feature that
-
simplifies enabling Label Distribution Protocol (LDP) on all interfaces used by an Interior Gateway Protocol (IGP) instance
-
supports the IPv4 address family for the default VPN routing and forwarding (VRF) instance, and
-
allows auto-configuration on multiple interfaces and IGP instances at once, while letting you explicitly disable auto-configuration on selected interfaces.
This feature can be applied to a large number of interfaces, which is especially useful when LDP is used for transport in the network core. You can selectively disable LDP IGP auto-configuration on individual interfaces using the igp auto-config disable command. In this mode, LDP is automatically enabled on all IGP interfaces except those where you have explicitly disabled it.
Refer to the MPLS configuration guide for more details on configuring label distribution protocol IGP auto-configuration.
