Cisco Embedded Wireless Controller (EWC) on Catalyst 9100 Access Points Guide

Step 1

Plug in and power up

1.     Use a standard Ethernet cable to connect the PoE-PD LAN port on your AP to the PoE port on the PoE Ethernet Switch

2.     Use another Ethernet cable to connect the switch to your broadband modem or router

3.     Power up the EWC AP by powering up the PoE switch, wait for the LED on the access point to be “chirping” green (it may take several minutes)

Step 2

Connect to EWC provisioning SSID

1.     Connect your laptop, smartphone, or tablet to the EWC SSID for provisioning CiscoAirProvision-<MAC>

2.     Enter password=password

3.     Click “Join”

Step 3

Log to EWC-AP wizard

1.     Open a web browser and type any site it will redirect to https://mywifi.cisco.com

2.     Enter default Username and Passwords as shown in the picture, and click “Log In”

Step 4

Configure your EWC Wi—Fi

1.     Select country

2.     Create login ID and password

3.     Click “Add”

Step 5

Adding enterprise WLAN

1.     Give your network a name

2.     Define Network type as either “Employee” or “Guest”

3.     Set security

4.     Click “Add”

5.     Apply by click “Finish”
