Avoid 21 percent VAT on software shipments from new Galway, Ireland, facility Hungarian-manufactured goods to be available at European Logistics Center (ELC)

Cisco has established a new software production facility in Galway, Ireland, to fulfill EMEA customer software orders. For supplies from Ireland, the general value added tax (VAT) rate charged to customers is 21 percent. For shipments from Ireland to other European Union (EU) member states or for export outside the EU, Cisco may apply the 0 percent VAT rate if we have proof that the goods have left Ireland. For customers that arrange their own fulfillment process, we are in principle required by law to charge 21 percent Irish VAT if we cannot sufficiently prove that the goods have left Ireland.

To avoid paying 21 percent VAT on software shipments from Ireland, please sign and submit the zero-rate agreement contract, which declares that your company will provide Cisco with the required evidence for applying the 0 percent VAT rate on transfer to another EU member state or export outside the EU. Please fax the completed and signed form to +31 20 357 1510, and then mail the completed form to:

Cisco Systems International BV
Attn: Monica Gomez
CM & FS department
Haarlerbergweg 13-19
1101 CH AMSTERDAM
The Netherlands

The required evidence, which needs to be sent to the address above, includes your company’s VAT registration number in the destination country and proper shipping documents.

You will need to add a shipping lane in the Shipment Routing Configurator (SRC) tool for the carrier you will choose to collect and fulfill orders from the new software facility. The full address for the new Hewlett-Packard software production facility where goods can be collected is:

Hewlett-Packard
Ballybrit Business Park
Galway, Ireland

The carrier you choose must be able to provide a waybill number upon collection of the goods and must have web-accessible track-and-trace capabilities so that shipments can be tracked via the waybill number provided.

If the shipping lane for the new HPI facility isn’t updated in the SRC tool when your first software order is ready to ship, we will automatically create a new entry in the SRC tool to allow shipments to be made via your carrier of choice for the ELC. If you would like to edit that automated entry, please access the Shipment Routing Configurator (SRC) tool to update the lane with the carrier of your choice.

If you have any questions about the zero-rate program or would like to take advantage of our Cisco-routed logistics program, please contact Cisco Customer Service.
