Overview
Learn how to cable the Secure Firewall 3100 so you can complete the initial hardware setup and prepare required ports for network connectivity before configuration.

(Optional) Obtain a console adapter—The chassis ships with a DB-9 to RJ-45 serial cable, so you may need to buy a third-party DB-9-to-USB serial cable to make the connection.

(Optional) Install an SFP into Management 1/1—It is a 1/10-Gbps port that requires an SFP/SFP+ module.

Install SFPs into Ethernet 1/9 and higher—The fixed ports are 1/10-Gbps ports that require SFP/SFP+ modules.
