Scrubbing the Partition Data from the Server
You may need to scrub/wipe out all the partition data from the server. You can wipe the data from defective appliance to overwrite the data for installation.
Use the following procedure to wipe out all the partition data from the server to avoid any installation issues.
.Before you begin
Ensure to download the complete DVD ISO of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4.
Procedure
Step 1 |
Log into the server as a CLI admin user. |
Step 2 |
Boot the system from the RHEL installation DVD ISO into rescue mode. |
Step 3 |
Once booting completes in the rescue environment, choose a language to use. |
Step 4 |
Choose the keyboard layout to use when the screen prompts. |
Step 5 |
The rescue environment will try to find the current Red Hat Enterprise Linux installation on the system and prompted with the following options:

Step 6 |
To confirm the wipe out operation, the run the following command to check for any available partition data.
