Problem
When a user tries to take the screenshot of the current IP phone screen display via the http://<phoneIP>/CGI/Screenshot URL, a <CiscoIPPhoneError Number="x"/> error message appears on the browser window.

Note: The http://<phoneIP>/CGI/Screenshot URL returns an exact snapshot of the current phone display. The size and format of the image returned is model-specific.
Solution
The <CiscoIPPhoneError Number="x"/> error message occurs due to various reasons such as authentication, timeout, and network. In this example the error message occurs due to a case-sensitive URL used on the browser to get the snapshot of the IP phone display.
Cisco IP Phones have an embedded web server to provide a programming interface for external applications, and a debugging and management interface for system administrators.
You can access the administrative pages by using a standard web browser and pointing to the IP address of the phone with the http://<phoneIP>/HTML URL or XML URL, where phoneIP is the IP address of the specific phone.
Refer to Accessing IP Phone Information for more information about the phone accessing URL.
This list provides possible CiscoIPPhoneError codes:
-
Error 0 = Authentication Failure error
-
Error 1 = Error parsing CiscoIPPhoneExecute object
-
Error 2 = Error framing CiscoIPPhoneResponse object
-
Error 3 = Internal file error
-

-
Error 5 = network error

Verification
You can verify through the http://<phoneIP>/CGI/Screenshot URL on the browser, then you will get the current display of the IP phone screen.
