Announcing Support for McAfee VirusScan Enterprise, Version 7.0

IPCBU is pleased to announce official support for Network Associates Technology, Inc.'s, McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 7.0 running on CallManager servers.

Customers must acquire the McAfee software on their own, and install it according to the application note available here:

Q&A

Q. Does TAC support this?

A. Yes. TAC will not support your customer with the McAfee software, but they will support the customer on their CallManager implementation and will not ask him to remove the McAfee software.

Q. Can we sell them McAfee VirusScan Enterprise software?

A. No. Like the Symantec software that we currently support, we do NOT sell the antivirus software. Most enterprise customers have relationships with antivirus software companies, and quite often already have a site license for the software.

Q. Are there any caveats we should make customers aware of?

A. Yes, they are listed in the application note.

Q. How about additional antivirus packages in addition to McAfee and Symantec?

A. While we will always consider the business case for supporting other packages, 90%+ of our inquiries to date have been for McAfee or Symantec.
