End of Sale for Cisco Secure Policy Manager
Lite Software

Cisco Systems announces the end of sale and end of life for the Cisco Secure Policy Manager Lite Software. Cisco Secure Policy Manager Lite Software Version 2.3.3i is the final release. The last day to order the software is December 31, 2002. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until December 31, 2005. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones and dates.

Product Migration Options

Customers interested in managing their Cisco IDS Sensor environments are encouraged to migrate to the CiscoWorks VPN/Security Management Solution (VMS). Starting with CiscoWorks VMS 2.1, the CiscoWorks Management Center for IDS Sensors and the CiscoWorks Monitoring Center for Security are new modules in VMS that offer enhanced IDS management functions and ease of use.

The centers provide Cisco customers with a more scalable security foundation, offering browser access to related information about network intrusions, and providing enhanced reporting capabilities. More information about the centers is available at:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/sw/cscowork/ps2330/index.html

For smaller sensor deployments, customers can also use the Cisco IDS Device Manager and Cisco IDS Event Viewer. These embedded tools are shipped with Cisco IDS Sensor software at no additional cost. More information is available at:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/secursw/ps2113/index.html

Cisco will discontinue new feature development for Cisco Secure Policy Manager Lite software concurrent with this announcement. Customers interested in support for new devices or Cisco IDS Sensor Version 4.0 or later can find that support in the CiscoWorks VMS and the embedded Cisco IDS Device Manager and Cisco IDS Event Viewer tools.
