Cisco Intrusion Detection System
(IDS) Director v2.2.3
Management ApplicationCisco Systems announces updates to its Cisco Intrusion Detection System Director. Enhancements include support for Cisco Intrusion Detection appliance sensor v3.0 and an assortment of code updates.
Availability
New customers interested in purchasing Cisco Intrusion Detection System Director version 2.2.3 can place orders through their normal sales channels beginning October 20, 2001 (see below for ordering information).
Existing IDS-DIR v2.2.x customers with current Software Application Support (SAS) contracts can request the IDS-DIR update kit using their service contract number at http://www.cisco.com/upgrade beginning October 25, 2001. These updates will be available for download from the Cisco Connections Online Software Center from the IDS section. Customers with the Cisco NetRanger director software may upgrade to IDS-DIR software application Version 2.2.3 using the upgrade part number below.
Cisco Intrusion Detection System Director version 2.2.3 is targeted for Solaris users, although an updated HP-UX version is included in each box. IDS-DIR components are licensed for installation on one platform per purchased copy.
Ordering Information
IDS-DIR part numbers were not changed as IDS-DIR version 2.2.3 began shipping. Prior to the release of the 2.2.3 update, the standard shipping version was IDS-DIR 2.2.1. An IDS-DIR 2.2.2 update for IDS DIR 2.2.1 users was available on CCO for download. The following table provides part number information for ordering the IDS-DIR v2.2.3 product:

Customers interested in adding or renewing extended support services on IDS-DIR can do so by ordering a Software Application Support (SAS) contract using the following part numbers and support time line information. For full service coverage, each copy of IDS DIR should be included on a contract.
Support Timetables
Cisco provides telephone and CCO resources support for each released version of the IDS-DIR product for a period of three years. Customers are encouraged to plan upgrades to ensure they have current releases of these technologies, and to ensure the appropriate support resources are available. The following table provides end of support milestones for various versions of the IDS-DIR product.
