End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement for the Hardware Component of the Cisco BBSM Version 5.2 Appliance
Cisco Systems® announces the end of life of the hardware component of the Cisco® Building Broadband Service Manager (BBSM) Version 5.2 appliance. The last day to order the Cisco BBSM Version 5.2 appliance is January 21, 2004. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until January 21, 2009. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco BBSM Version 5.2 appliance. Table 2 lists part numbers affected by this announcement.
The Cisco BBSM Version 5.2-A appliance will be the most current version, and customers are encouraged to continue ordering this version with the following new part number: BB-SM-SERVER5.2-A. This new part number simply represents a new hardware component shipping with the Cisco BBSM 5.2-A software. The software for Versions 5.2 and 5.2-A is exactly the same. Product Migration Options
The recommended replacement for the Cisco BBSM Version 5.2 appliance is the Cisco BBSM Version 5.2-A appliance (see new part number below). The Cisco BBSM Version 5.2-A software will remain the same as the Cisco BBSM Version 5.2 software.
