End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement
for the Cisco 590 Device Provisioning Engine
Cisco Systems® announces the end of life of the Cisco® 590 Device Provisioning Engine (DPE). The last day to order the Cisco 590 DPE is February 31, 2004. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until February, 31, 2009. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco 590 DPE.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to the new BACC 2115 Device Provisioning Engine appliance, which offers the same functions, but increased performance compared to the Cisco 590 DPE. Table 2 offers a comparison of the two products, as well as part numbers for ordering.

|

The last-possible date a routine failure analysis may be performed to determine the cause of product failure or defect.

The last date to extend or renew a service contract for the product. The extension or renewal period cannot extend beyond the last date of support.

Product Migration Options
The recommended replacement for the Cisco 590 DPE is the BACC 2115 Device Provisioning Engine (Table 2). This replacement appliance offers the same functions but with increased performance.
