New Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1(14)AZ for Cisco Catalyst 2950SX-48-SI and Catalyst 2950T-48-SI Switches
Cisco Systems® is pleased to announce Cisco IOS® Software for the Cisco® Catalyst® 2950SX-48-SI and Catalyst 2950T-48-SI switches. These switches are available only with the Standard Image. The Cisco Catalyst 2950SX-48-SI and Catalyst 2950T-48-SI are ideal switches for education, public sector, and commercial customers who want basic connectivity for data, voice, and video. Customers who require 48 ports and the Intelligent Ethernet services in the Enhanced Image can buy two Cisco Catalyst 2950T-24 switches or the Cisco Catalyst 2950G-48-EI Switch.
This product bulletin describes the content and delivery information about Cisco IOS Software release 12.1(14)AZ, which is the first Cisco IOS software release that provides support for the Cisco Catalyst 2950T-48-SI and Catalyst 2950SX-48-SI switches. Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1(14)AZ is an Early Deployment release, based on Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1(14)EA1. The Cisco IOS 12.1(14)AZ software release should not be used for any switch other than the Cisco Catalyst 2950SX-48-SI or Catalyst 2950T-48-SI switches.
This release also supports the embedded, Web-based, network management software, Cisco Cluster Management Suite (CMS).

This release contains all the features found in the Cisco Catalyst 2950 Standard Image feature set of Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1(14)EA1a.

Figure 1 displays Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1(14)AZ release functionality relative to the 12.1 and 12.1E releases. This diagram also identifies the recommended migration path to Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1(19)EA1. Note that Release 12.1(14)AZ is a special one-time "X" release with no planned maintenance releases. Thus, bugs that would have otherwise been fixed in a maintenance release will be fixed in the 12.1EA train and will be available in the 12.1(19)EA1 release or later releases.
