Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(2)BY Release on Cisco 10000 Series

This product bulletin describes new features introduced in Cisco IOS software Release 12.2(2)BY for the Cisco 10000 series next generation Internet Router.

Overview

The release of Cisco IOS software brings unified edge aggregation to the Cisco 10000 series Internet Router and enables the router to emulate an LNS/Home Gateway upstream from an edge broadband access network. In this role, the 10000 connects to an L2TP Access Concentrator (LAC), terminates the point-to-point (PPP) layer, and assigns a network layer configuration to the remote client. The 10000 then routes or forwards the remote client data to the backbone network.
