Cisco IOS Telephony Service
Cisco IOS Telephony Service(ITS) is call processing functionality integrated into IOS on the Cisco 175x, IAD2400, 2600 or 3600 routers, and provides telephony functions as well as phone features for Cisco IP phones. The feature is targeted for a small medium business, or for service provider managed services environments where a Cisco router is being deployed for data functions, and IP Telephony Service is an option the customer would like to add to the router. ITS provides features such as shared line appearances across multiple phones, multiple line appearances on a phone, transfer, forward, hold, intercom, conference, paging, a graphical user interface for management of the IP phones, voice-mail integration, PRI/BRI and analog FXO trunks, FXS ports for analog phones, and a number of other features that are typically used in small businesses.
SRS Telephony
SRS Telephony provides remote site call processing redundancy for Cisco IP phones when used in a centralized CallManager deployment. SRS Telephony support is added to the Cisco 175x series with this release. SRS Telephony is already supported on the Cisco 2600, 3600, 7200, and Catalyst 4224. SRS Telephony allows remote sites to continue to provide telephony services in the event that the WAN connection to a Centralized CallManager is lost. The branch office routers can handle outgoing and incoming calls for the duration of the failure, and come on-line to provide call processing services automatically using Cisco's SNAP technology. When the WAN circuit is repaired, the routers automatically go into standby mode, and the IP phones derive call processing services from the centrally located primary CallManager. SRS Telephony provides users with a rich set of features including shared line appearances across multiple phones, multiple line appearances on a phone, transfer, hold, PRI/BRI and analog FXO trunks, FXS ports for analog phones to name a few.
NM-HDA
The NM-HDA is a standard network module for the Cisco 2600/3600 series multiservice access routers providing high-density analog voice/fax connections. Using a combination of ports on the base board and optional expansion modules, the NM-HDA supports up to 12 FXS + 4 FXO ports or 4 FXS + 8 FXO ports.

Download Information
Customers can download Cisco IOS Release 12.2(2)XT software from Cisco Connection Online (CCO) in the Software Image Library.
Special Note to Customers
12.2(2)XT Rebuilds
12.2(2)XT will have 3 planned rebuilds as follows:
12.2(2)XT1 will post to CCO on 1/21/02.
12.2(2)XT2 will post to CCO on 4/1/02.
12.2(2)XT3 will post to CCO in May of 02.
261X Platform Support
The 261x platform is NOT supported on 12.2(2)XT with the following images: c2600-jsx-mz, c2600-jk9s-mz, and c2600-jk9o3s-mz. The minimum memory requirements for these images will exceed the maximum memory available (16 MB flash and 64 MB DRAM) on the 261x platforms in the 4th 12.2T release. Since the 4th 12.2T release is the bug fix migration path for this short-lived ED Release, we cannot support these images on the 261X because it leaves no migration path for the 261x customers.
