Cisco IOS X-Releases 12.2(1)XF, 12.2(2)XF and 12.2(4)XF
Introduction
This Product Bulletin describes the content and delivery information concerning Cisco IOS(TM) software releases 12.2(1)XF, 12.2(2)XF and 12.2(4)XF. It should be used in conjunction with Product Bulletin titled, Release Notes for Cisco ubr10000 Series for Cisco IOS Release 12.2(1)XF (or 12.2(2)XF/12.2(4)XF). 12.2(1)XF, 12.2(2)XF and 12.2(4)XF are short lived Early Deployment (ED) releases parented to 12.2T and supporting the Cisco ubr10000 platform. The 12.2(1)XF release contains all new features delivered in 12.1T up to 12.1(5)T. The 12.2(2)XF and 12.2(4)T releases contain all new features deliveres in 12.2T up to 12.2(2)T.
The platform and features delivered with this ED release will be incorporated into a subsequent Cisco IOS 12.2B release.

No new features are introduced in the 12.2(1)XF release.
New Hardware in Cisco IOS Release 12.2(1)XF
Cisco IOS Release 12.2(1)XF introduces the Cisco uBR10012 Universal Broadband Router, which provides a cost-effective, scalable, and industry-proven cable modem termination system (CMTS), optimized for aggregating traffic at the edge of the cable network. Designed for cable operators and service providers, the platform connects residential subscribers via cable modems, digital set-top boxes, or IP telephony cable modems for high-speed data, broadband entertainment, and IP telephony solutions.

No new features are introduced in the 12.2(2)XF release.

Special Note Regarding the 12.2(1)XF and 12.2(2)XF Releases
Cisco IOS release 12.2(1)XF is being released for use in test envronments with a limited set of verified functionality. Please review the 12.2(1)XF release notes for a list of supported features. When the 12.2(2)XF release is available, all users should immediately upgrade to that (or later) release.
Cisco IOS releases 12.2(2)XF and 12.2(4)XF are being released for deployment in customer networks. As with all Cisco IOS releases for the ubr7200 and ubr10000 platforms, Cisco recommends that the IOS release be first tested in a test network matching the user's specific configuration before full deployment. Also, Please review the 12.2(2)XF or 12.2(4)XF release notes for a list of supported features and open issues with this release.
