Product Bulletin, No. 1068

Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1E for the Cisco 7200 and 7500 Series Routers

Introduction

This product bulletin describes the content and delivery of Cisco IOS® Software Release 12.1E on the Cisco 7200 and 7500 Series routers.

Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1E is an early-deployment release based on Release 12.1. Release 12.1E, which supports Cisco 7100, 7200, 7500, 7600, 8500, and Catalyst 6000 platforms, make new features, interfaces, and platforms available before they appear in subsequent T-releases. Release 12.1E should be chosen when these new features are required; if all required features are already available in a mainline release, the mainline release is generally recommended.

For information about the Cisco IOS software release process, please see "Types of Cisco IOS Software Releases," Product Bulletin #537, at:

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/cc/cisco/mkt/ios/rel/prodlit/537_pp.htm

Before deploying a new software release in a production network, always consult appropriate product-specific documentation, release notes, and field notices, refer to the online defect tracking system, and perform acceptance testing in your own test environment.
