Cisco IOS X-Release 12.1(5)XV
IntroductionThis Product Bulletin describes the content and delivery information concerning Cisco IOS(TM) software release 12.1(5)XV. It should be used in conjunction with Product Bulletin titled, Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1T.12.1(5)XV is a short lived Early Deployment (ED) release parented to 12.1(5)T and supporting Cisco AS5850. This release contains all new features delivered in 12.1 up to 12.1(5)T.
The platform and features delivered with this ED release will be immediately incorporated into Cisco IOS 12.2(1)T and subsequent Cisco IOS 12.2T releases. It is important to note that there are no planned maintenance releases for this ED release. In addition, please note the migration path to the latest T release. Customers should prepare to upgrade using this migration path.
New Features in Cisco IOS Release 12.1(5)XVThe following platform support will be delivered in the initial release of 12.1(5)XV. No new feature content was added to 12.1(5)XV to release this platform, only stabilizing bug fixes were added.
New Platform: Cisco AS5850
The Cisco AS5850 is specifically designed to meet the demands of large service providers such as Post, Telephone, and Telegraphs (PTTs), regional bell operating companies (RBOCs), inter-exchange carriers (IXCs), and large Internet service providers (ISPs). The AS5850 initially supports up to 2688 calls (4 x CT3s) or 88 E1s. The Cisco AS5850 offers high availability features such as hot-swap on all cards, hot spares, redundant hot-swappable power supplies, redundant switch fabrics and redundant routers to ensure 99.999% availability. Its high density, high availability features and Universal Port readiness make it ideal for many network deployment architectures, especially co-location environments and high-density points of presence
