Announcing CiscoWorks
Network Connectivity Monitor 1.0
Cisco Systems® announces the availability of the CiscoWorks Network Connectivity Monitor 1.0 (NCM). In a Cisco® network, CiscoWorks NCM provides network administrators with tools to pinpoint connectivity problems in real time and identify their impact on the network. Existing CiscoWorks Device Fault Manager (DFM) and/or the CiscoWorks IP Telephony Environment Monitor (ITEM) products can work in combination with CiscoWorks NCM to provide analysis information on device status, IP telephony health, and network connectivity.
Important features of CiscoWorks NCM 1.0 include the following:
- Automated network connectivity and impact analysisProvides automated network-wide connectivity and impact analysis for Cisco® networks by identifying service-affecting problems, including the impact on interrelated logical and physical device connectivity.
- Consolidation of CiscoWorks NCM, DFM and/or ITEM fault analysis Consolidates the results of network connectivity analysis and fault analysis to provide a unified view of faults and pinpoint the source of connectivity issues
- Integration with third-party event manager systemsHelps improve alert notification by forwarding its network connectivity analysis to other multidevice, multivendor event management systems
