CiscoWorks for Windows Version 6.1
CiscoWorks for Windows Version 6.1 is a set of Web-based device monitoring and configuration tools that are suitable for small network deployments. It discovers and organizes information about the connectivity of Cisco and other devices in the network into a topology map that is easy to understand and navigate. The map provides a visual interface into information such as traffic thresholds, protocols, connection problems, and device status. Using the CiscoView tool, network administrators can view an image of each Cisco device, complete with its interfaces, indicator lights, and power status. Each device interface is color-coded to indicate its functional state with one-click access to each port's configuration settings and advanced statistical information.
CiscoWorks for Windows helps administrators quickly become aware of and respond to problems in the network by sending e-mail, voice, or pager alerts when problems occur. Troubleshooting tools provide information about active protocols, Remote Monitoring (RMON) statistics, and link information, so problems can be quickly isolated and corrected.
CiscoWorks for Windows is an easy-to- deploy and cost-effective solution that helps network managers maximize their administrative effectiveness, while minimizing the time spent managing the network's resources.

CiscoWorks for Windows Components
CiscoWorks for Windows includes the following:
•CiscoView Version 5.4—Provides graphical views of the physical back and front panels of a Cisco device with dynamic, color-coded displays to simplify device-status monitoring; device-specific component diagnostics, device configuration, and application launching.
•WhatsUp Gold Version 7.03 from Ipswitch, Inc.—Provides Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)-based network discovery of Cisco and other network devices. Organizes the network's topological information into an interactive network map. The map provides easy access to connectivity, monitoring, and troubleshooting tools and information.

•Threshold Manager—Enhances the ability to set thresholds on Cisco RMON-enabled devices, reducing management overhead and improving troubleshooting capabilities.
•Show Commands—Displays detailed router system and protocol information without requiring the user to remember complex Cisco IOS® Software command-line languages or syntax.
CiscoWorks for Windows Benefits
Ready-to-use network monitoring software—Provides a powerful set of tools that allow network administrators to discover, display, troubleshoot, and monitor all types of Cisco devices within a multivendor network.
Easy-to-access information—Provides Web browser access to physical views of a Cisco device and valuable information on device performance, utilization percentage, and frames transmitted.
Network productivity—Small workgroups can maximize their network investments in an environment where every minute of up time affects profitability.
Automatic alerts for problem escalation—Alerts notify administrators of network problems, helping to reduces response time delays in finding and correcting network conditions that disrupt user access to management applications and network resources.
CiscoWorks for Windows Features
