End of Sale and End-of-Life Announcement for
CiscoWorks Service Management Solution


Cisco Systems announces the end of sale of the CiscoWorks Service Management Solution (SMS). CiscoWorks Service Management Solution 2.0 is the final release. The last day to order SMS is July 25, 2003. Customers with applicable SMARTnet Software Application Service (SAS) contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until July 28, 2006. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones and dates for the CiscoWorks Service Management Solution.

Cisco continues to offer service level management solutions within various features of its Cisco IOS® Software and other related management tools.

End of sale date

The CiscoWorks Service Management Solution will not be sold after this date

July 25, 2003

Last shipment date

The last possible date that Cisco will schedule a shipment of the SMS product

October 24, 2003

End of software maintenance releases date

The last date that Cisco Engineering may release any final software maintenance releases or bug fixes. After this date, Cisco Engineering will no longer develop, repair, maintain, or test the SMS product software.

July 25, 2004

End of new service attachment date

For SMS installations not covered by an on-going service-and-support contract, this is the last date to order a new service-and-support contract or add the equipment and/or software to an existing service-and-support contract.

July 23, 2004

End of service contract renewal date

The last date to extend or renew a service contract for the CiscoWorks SMS product. The extension or renewal period cannot extend beyond the last date of support.

July 29, 2005

Last date of support

The last date to receive service and support for the CiscoWorks Service Management Solution. After this date, all support services for this product are unavailable, and the product becomes obsolete.

July 28, 2006

Table 2 describes the CiscoWorks Service Management Solution product numbers affected by this announcement.
