Review how to integrate the Active Directory (AD) to Secure Access, how AD is used as part of the communication flow, troubleshooting, and integration with virtual appliances.
The following information is about the Active Directory (AD) and how communication between Secure Access and the AD connector occur.
AD and the AD Connector
Endpoint device integration requires devices provisioned by an on-premise AD domain controller (DC) and Cisco AD Connector version 1.14.4 or newer. For more information, see Connect Active Directory to Secure Access and Configure Updates on AD Connectors.
AD Connector Communication Flow and Troubleshooting
The AD Connector is a Windows application and service that communicates with Cisco Secure Access and AD domain controllers. The AD Connector only syncs the required AD User and Group attributes with Secure Access.
For more information see AD Connector Communication Flow and Troubleshooting.
AD Integration with Virtual Appliances
The integration of Microsoft AD with Cisco Secure Access Virtual Appliances (VAs) provides AD user, group, or computer name information for each applicable DNS request. Secure Access VAs forward DNS requests at the site. Please refer to AD Integration with Virtual Appliances for more information.
