Cisco SD-WAN support

This document outlines the supported features and operational requirements for Cisco SD-WAN integration.

Cisco SD-WAN overview

Provides an overview of the Cisco SD-WAN solution, which consists of vOrchestrator, vManage, vSmart, and vEdge components.

The following components perform specific roles within the SD-WAN solution:

  • vOrchestrator: Responsible for launching all controller VMs in the cloud.

  • vManage: Acts as the management plane for the overall SD-WAN solution and uses netconf/YANG to communicate with vEdge devices.

  • vSmart: Serves as the control plane for the overall SD-WAN solution, acting as the route reflector, key reflector, and policy engine for vEdge devices.

  • vEdge: Functions as the data plane of the SD-WAN solution, where the IR8100 platform communicates with vSmart and vManage as part of the network.
