Cisco announces the end-of-sale and end-of-life dates for the Cisco Business Edition embedded virtualization licenses, version 6x. The last day to order the affected product(s) is November 29, 2020. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) as shown in Table 1 of the EoL bulletin. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the affected product(s). Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement. For customers with active and paid service and support contracts, support will be available under the terms and conditions of customers' service contract.
This EOL bulletin is for entire commercial offers, entire feature-levels and all versions of the offers / feature-levels. These commercial offers were only sold in conjunction with Business Edition 6000 (BE6000) / Business Edition (BE7000) / Cisco Meeting Server 1000 (CMS 1000) appliances of select older hardware generations. New purchases of BE6000 / BE7000 / CMS 1000 appliances of M6 hardware generation do not ship with or have options for these embedded virtualization commercial offers.
These offers were first shipped as 6.x licenses (to support versions 6.0, 6.5 or 6.7) with option to upgrade to 7.x license (to support version 7.0). 7.x license / version 7.0 is the last release available/supported for these offers. 8.x license / version 8.0 is not available/supported for these offers. Any future major versions beyond 8.0 will not be available/supported for these offers. Customers with active SWSS will only have access to 6.x to 7.x version upgrades. After the offers’ Last Day of Support, version upgrades to 7.x will no longer be available.
Technical support on these offers is from Cisco TAC, not from VMware. Cisco TAC support for all versions of these offers (including 7.0) will end on the offers’ Last Day of Support (regardless of VMware’s published End of General Support date for version 7.0 on the VMware Product Lifecycle Matrix at vmware.com). Until the Last Day of Support, customers with active SWSS may call Cisco TAC for technical support, but note VMware support engagement to Cisco ramps down after VMware's published date for End of General Support for the release in question.
Bug/security fixes for ESXi releases come from VMware, and are not available beyond VMware's published End of General Support date for the release in question.
Customers requiring either technical support or access to new major versions after these offers’ Last Day of Support must procure a replacement commercial offer with support and upgrade coverage (such as VMW-VSP-STD-1A= with ISV1 service, or a customer-provided option).
